Powder Found In Postal Wrapper From Us Does Not Contain Anthrax Spores

Preliminary reports say the powder which was found in a bank in Saratov, the Volga area, does not contain anthrax spores, the sanitary and epidemiological control service said Friday. The Saratov-based Express-Volga bank was earlier reported to have received, January 10, a postal wrapper from the USA addressed to its officer. Found in the wrapper was a plastic bag containing a suspicious white powder. Local emergencies ministry officials took away the find and sent it for a test. On Friday, experts started lab tests, the result of which will be made public in a few days.
