Large Caches With Arms And Ammunition Found In Chechnya

Large caches with weapons and ammunition were found on January 15 during special operations in different districts of Chechnya. As officials of the temporary press centre of police in Khankala said, during the past day the law-enforcers carried out 14 special operations in search of arms and ammunition in different districts of Chechnya. Three caches with weapons and ammunition were found in Grozny, one - at Bachi-Yurt populated area, and one more cache, equipped in the basement of a ruined non-dwelling house, was found at Argun 30 kilometres east of Grozny. All in all, over the past 24 hours 53.5 kilogrammes of TNT, nine small arms, two grenade-launchers, 16 artillery shells, 107 hand grenades and shots for an underbarrel grenade-launcher, 225 cartridges for automatic weapons, and six detonators have been confiscated in Chechnya, the officials of the temporary press centre noted.
