Hollow charges used in grenade launcher attack

Head of the local administration in the Kursk district of the Stavropol region, which borders on Chechnya, Sergei Logvinov has told RIA Novosti that hollow charges were fired from a grenade launcher during an attack on the village of Galyugayevskaya on Thursday night.

He stressed that Russian servicemen in the area did not possess this form of ammunition. Moreover, that a voice with a Chechen accent was heard over police airwaves during the attack shouting "Got the presents? Want any more?" According to an investigation that is underway, the attack came from the Naura region of the Chechen Republic. Five or six shots were launched from the grenade launcher, while automatic gunfire was also heard. Fortunately, no one was wounded.
