German "blue Helmets" To Arrive In Afghanistan

The German government is holding talks with US, Russian and Ukrainian governments on the lease of military and transport planes in order to transport German servicemen and weapons needed for Germany's participation in the UN mission in Afghanistan, the Bild newspaper said on Monday. The point is that the Bundeswehr does not dispose of its own military and transport planes. Last Saturday the German parliament okayed the sending of 1,200 servicemen to Kabul for the period of six months /till June 22/.
