An 18-year-old member of a bandit formation tried to install two antipersonnel mines in the district center of Urus-Martan.
The Chechen Interior Ministry reports that on Friday night a police detail passing by in a car noticed an unknown person who was trying to install a home-made explosive on a road. The criminal was detained. He turned out to be a local resident. Two antipersonnel mines and electric detonators for them were confiscated from him.
The detained is being checked for possible involvement in earlier committed crimes.
