Deputy Prosecutors of Two Regions of the Republic Kidnapped in Chechnya

On Thursday official representative of the prosecutor's office of the Chechen republic confirmed to RIA Novosti that deputy prosecutors of the Shali and Shatoi districts of the republic, Nadezhda Pogosova and Aleksei Klimov, were kidnapped.

The Agency's interlocutors pointed out that, supposedly, officers of the Prosecutor's office were kidnapped back on 27 December 2002. On that day Pogosova and Klimov in an "Opel" car left Grozny for Mozdok and since that time no information regarding their whereabouts was received.

In connection with this fact prosecutor's office opened a criminal case under article 126 of the Russian Criminal Code (kidnapping). The representative of the prosecutor's office reported that as of today no demands or any other statements from kidnappers were received by law enforcement authorities.
