Cache with weapons and ammunition found in Chechnya

A cache with a large amount of weapons and ammunition was found in Chechnya's Kurchaloi district. According to the Regional Operational Headquarters for coordinating the counter-terrorist operation in the North Caucasus, the police found the cache on Sunday during a search through the outskirts of the Chechen village of Alleroi.

The cache contained 4 Kalashnikov assault rifles, one of them complete with a device allowing noiseless shooting, 4 82-mm shells , 13 grenades, 44 grenade-launcher rounds, 5,500 cartridges of different calibers, 1.5 kg of plastic explosives, 3 kg of trotyl and 2 homemade explosive devices consisting of 8 82-mm shells, electric detonators and wires.

According to a source in the headquarters, militants probably meant to use the arsenal in terrorist acts in the Kurchaloi district and other parts of Chechnya.
