Israeli troops intensively shelled Saturday night the residential areas of Khan Younis and Deir Balah in the Gaza Strip.
The RIA Novosti correspondent quotes the Palestinian news agency WAFA as saying that artillery and mortar fire was delivered at Khan Younis from the direction of the Jewish settlement of Kfar Darum, where the Israeli army's tank units are deployed now.
According to Palestinian sources, the shelling damaged a lot of buildings in the town. No victims among locals are reported.
At the same time, Israeli military, deployed near a checkpoint in Tufah, shelled a densely populated district in Deir Balah.
