Four caches found in Chechnya

Russian police have detected four caches with weapons and ammunition in different parts of Chechnya over the past 24 hours.

According to the Regional operational staff, the cache found in near the Maiturup village (Kurchaloi district) contained 800 automatic rifle cartridges and 29 grenades. Another cache was found in an old trench near the Novaya Zhizn village in the same district. It contained an anti-tank grenade-launcher, 1,000 automatic rifle cartridges, and two mines.

Three tank shells and two mortar shells were found in an abandoned house on the outskirts of the Shali settlement. The fourth cache containing 27 mines and 300 cartridges was discovered in an underpass in the centre of Grozny.

The found ammunition was destroyed.
