A Chechen detained in the Pankiss gorge disappeared from a local hospital

A Chechen detained two days ago by Georgian police disappeared from a local hospital in the Pankiss gorge of Georgia. Isa Muradov, 30 years old, a resident of Chechnya which is adjacent to the Pankiss gorge, participated in an exchange of fire with servicemen of Georgian Interior forces which took place on 12 September near the settlement of Duisi in the Pankiss gorge.

During the skirmish he was wounded and that is why they managed to arrest him. The wounded militant was placed in the hospital in the Akhmeta village, the administrative centre of the region in which the Pankiss gorge is located.

According to the information provided to RIA Novosti in the Georgian Ministry of Interior, on Friday night the wounded militant disappeared from the hospital under obscure circumstances. In connection with this incident the chief of the district police service was arrested. Investigation is carried out by the general inspection office of the Georgian Ministry of Interior.
