Restoration of Grozny to take five years at least

The restoration of Grozny, the Chechen capital, will last for five years atleast, while its population will be 600,000 people, the government of theChechen Republic reported with a reference to the general plan of restoringand developing Grozny drawn up by the State Construction Committee ofRussia. According to the plan, in the South-Eastern outskirts of the city anew housing estate will be built, which is expected to provide homes for100,000 people. The plan also envisages the restoration of other districtsof the city except for the Zavodskoy district, which will not be restoredowing to environmental reasons. A large number of oil leaks in the districtmay have a perilous impact on the health condition of the people living inthe city, according to doctors. .
