Russian Defence Ministry explains Vinnitsa attack

The Russian forces struck the House of Officers in the city of Vinnitsa as the building was used for the temporary accommodation of Nazi fighters, the Russian Ministry of Defense told RT.

On the morning of July 14, Kyiv reported explosions in the center of Vinnitsa. According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, civilians were killed in the attack. The head of the National Police of Ukraine, Igor Klymenko, reported 20 victims, including three children. Another 15 are missing, 90 were injured, RBC reports.

Vinnytsia is a city in Central Ukraine, about 200 km southwest of Kyiv.

Russia has been conducting the special military operation in Ukraine since February 24. The Russian Defense Ministry has repeatedly stated that the Russian forces do not strike civilian targets.
