Another shark attack occurred off the coast of the Egyptian resort of Hurghada. A woman was killed, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the Egyptian Ministry of the Environment.

A day earlier, a 68-year-old Austrian female tourist was killed in a shark attack near Hurghada. The attack occurred in Sahl Hasheesh area close to the coastline and many eyewitnesses could see the horrifying scene before their very eyes. A shark bit off the woman's leg and arm. The woman was pulled out of the water, but subsequently died from blood loss and pain shock.

Immediately after the tragedy, the authorities of the resort town of Hurghada decided to close 25 kilometers of the coastline. Beaches were closed for three days.

In 2010, three tourists from Russia were injured as a result of shark attacks in the Red Sea, and one tourist from Germany was killed. A whole series of shark attacks forced the Egyptian authorities to close beaches in the popular resort town of Sharm el-Sheikh for a week.
