Russia uses Yenisei armoured train in Ukraine

The Russian military use the Yenisei special armored train during the special operation in Ukraine. The train was created by specialists from the railway troops of the Central Military District.

The train is designed for engineering reconnaissance, cargo deliveries and the restoration of railway tracks in the zone of the special operation.

Crew protection is ensured by armor plates. The arsenal of the train includes ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft guns. The Yenisei is equipped with firing ports.

The armored train carries a BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicle that can move off the platform when necessary and join the battle.

In September 2021, Russia tested the trains that can support combat operations. The trains with passenger cars are designed to eliminate the consequences of natural disasters and support military operations.
