More extremist attacks in Chechnya

The heads of the administrations of two villages were attacked in the Kurchaloi district of the Russian North Caucasian republic of Chechnya.

In the village of Akhkinchu-Borzoi, 30 armed bandits broke into the house of the village head Edelkhanov, seized his gun and the assault rifles of his four bodyguards, and threatened to take Edelkhanov's life unless he resigned from his post.

On the same night, a similar incident occurred in the neighbouring village of Dzhugurty. Armed bandits broke into the house of administration head Nesir Yunusov, disarmed his bodyguards, taking a pistol and two assault rifles, and warned Yunusov that he would be killed unless he resigned.
