Japan outraged about US military sexual terror

Residents of the Japanese island of Okinawa hold protest actions in front of US military base Kadena in connection with the murder of a Japanese woman, alocal resident, who was supposedly murdered by a US citizen.

According to Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe, "we intend to demand tough actions and comprehensive measures from the United States to prevent this from happening in the future."

The police of Japan's southern prefecture of Okinawa arrested a 32-year-old US citizen, an employee of the US military base in Japan. The man was said to be trying to dispose of the woman's body. The perpetrator has reportedly pleaded guilty to the murder. The man, Kenneth Franklin Shinzato, who works at Kadena base, told the police that he had strangled the woman.

The woman went missing on April 28, when she left home. She texted her boyfriend that she was going for a walk. She did not come home the next morning, and the young man reported her disappearance to the police.

Law enforcement agencies identified the place, where the GPS signal from the woman's signal was lost and subsequently found the vehicle of the American citizen, who was driving in the area that day.

Noteworthy, US State Department spokesman John Kirby presented condolences in connection with the death of the Japanese woman and called the incident "a terrible tragedy."

In mid-March, the Japanese police arrested a US serviceman suspected of raping a tourist from Fukuoka Prefecture (Kyushu). The American denies his guilt.

In late 2012, two marines were arrested in Okinawa for raping and robbing a local female resident. The most notorious case of this kind was the rape of a 12-year-old Japanese schoolgirl in 1995.

US military men commit crimes not only in Japan. In 2004, 53 minor girls were sexually abused by US soldiers stationed at an army base in Colombia. The Americans filmed their actions on video and sold the tapes as porn films.
