Amnesty International experts said that Turkish security forces fire shots at refugees, including children, on a regular basis.
According to The Independent, Ankara refused to let wounded civilians from Syria. Turkish border guards, the newspaper wrote, attack Syrian refugees and force them to seek assistance from illegal carriers. Turkish soldiers opened fire on refugees from Aleppo as the latter were trying to enter the territory of Turkey with the help of illegal carriers.
"There have been many reports of incidents on the border. We collected information on this as early as 2014, when we received many reports of people being shot when they were trying to cross the border irregularly," Amnesty International's Andrew Gardner said. "Now, the information we received via Syria doctors is that there are reports of two or three people being shot every day trying to cross the border irregularly," he added.
According to the official, Ankara says that the borders are open, but Amnesty International has documented the opposite.
