Donetsk militia take Polish mercenaries captive

The militia of the People's Republic of Donetsk took Polish mercenaries captives, Acting Minister of State Security of the People's Republic of Donetsk, Leonid Baranov said. According to him, there are many foreigners fighting on the side of the Ukrainian forces. In particular, at the airport in Donetsk, the fighting for which still continues, there are mercenaries from the United States. The representative of the republic also said that the losses of Ukrainian security forces exceeded 20,000 people since the beginning of the special operation, reports RIA Novosti.

Meanwhile, militia forces in the south-east of Ukraine continue the military-humanitarian operation. Near the village of Yasinovataya, a unit of Ukrainian battalion "Shahtersk" was destroyed. In addition, security forces of Ukraine were forced to leave the settlements of Signalnoye, Blagodatnoye, Radchansky and Vakhrushevo. In Amvrosievka, militia forces captured two tanks and three self-propelled guns with ammunition. In the direction of Luhansk, militia took control of two villages - Peremozhnoe and Malonikolaevka. Ukrainian military suffered serious losses.

The Luhansk airport, which the security forces left, was completely destroyed. Only the carcass of the terminal building was left; absolutely all windows of the building were shattered. All neighboring buildings and construction, equipment, machinery were burnt. Reportedly, nearly 2,000 fighters of the National Guard of Ukraine were based at the building of the airport. Fierce fighting for the strategic site continued since July. Two days ago, Ukrainian forces left their positions and retreated.
