Terrorist act prevented in Chechnya on Khankala-Argun railway

Officers of Groznensky Line Department of Interior Affairs and police officers of the Kuzbass Department of Interior Affairs have prevented a terrorist act in Groznensky district of Chechnya on the Khankala-Argun railway section.

The explosive device, set up by terrorists, was discovered yesterday at 10:00 a.m. (Moscow time) on the sector at issue, 400 metres from the bridge over the Argun river, Regional Operative headquarters of the anti-terrorist operation in the North Caucasus disclosed on Wednesday to a RIA Novosti correspondent.

According to the given information, the explosive device, which consisted of two 200 grams TNT cartridges and a detonator, was installed under the railway. Explosive experts, which arrived at the scene of the incident, took the device away into a secure place and blew it up.
