Tornadoes continue to ravage American states, at least 29 killed

The tornadoes that struck several states of the USA over the weekend, continue to move across the country. On Monday, Alabama, Mississippi and Tennessee came under attack; on Tuesday, the threat of tornadoes remains, CNN said.

In only two days, the tornadoes claimed the lives of at least 29 people in six states. Originally, the number of victims was 12 people: 11 in Arkansas and one in Oklahoma. Another person died in the state of Iowa. The exact number of victims has not been officially confirmed.

On April 28, Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant introduced a state of emergency in the state, where tornadoes killed at least eight people on Monday. According to him, the greatest damage was caused to Louisville and Tupelo.

The powerful storm, which began in the U.S. over the weekend, is likely to last through Wednesday. Mississippi and Alabama are facing the most serious threat of destruction. Specialists counted 30 tornadoes in total on Sunday and Monday in seven states.
