Nearly three hundred people are missing in the crash of Sevol passenger ship off the coast of South Korea.

Rescuers managed to evacuate 180 people from the ship; at least three people were killed in the accident. As many as 290 people are unaccounted for.

The ferry crashed between the port of Incheon and Jeju islan. By noon local time (7 am Moscow time ) the vessel had partially sunk.

Seven vessels and several helicopters took part in the rescue operation. Rescuers initially stated that the passengers would be evacuated within two hours, but then it was reported that 107 of them went missing. Afterwards, the number increased to 290 people.
