Blast in Volgograd passenger bus kills at least 10, mostly students

In Volgograd, an explosion ripped through a passenger bus. According to official figures, up to ten people have been killed, 27 others were hospitalized with injuries. According to unofficial reports, the number of victims has reached ten people.

The explosion was carried out by a female suicide bomber, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation said. The explosive device that was attached to a woman, detonated, officials said. The woman was a common-law wife of a terrorist.

The blast occurred at bus No. 29, said Interfax. Details and circumstances of the incident are being established.

A criminal case was opened under three articles of the Criminal Code:  Terrorist Attack, Murder and Arms trafficking.

The bomb blew up in the sub at 14:05. Most of the victims are students  of the Volgograd State University.
