Hostage crisis in Nairobi: Several terrorists killed

According to most recent reports, terrorists still hold hostages in the shopping mall in Nairobi. Explosions were heard inside the building, black smoke is seen rising above the mall. Two terrorists have reportedly been killed. 

As many as 69 people have been killed in the siege of Nairobi's Westgate shopping mall. Islamist militants of Al-Shabaab group broke into the building on September 21, released all the Muslim customers and started shooting others.

The storm of the building began on September 22-23 overnight. As of the morning of September 23, ten or fifteen terrorists and at least ten hostages remain in the building. Relatives of the president of Kenya were said to be among the victims of the bloody terrorist act.

According to Kenyan Defense Minister, General Julius Karanga, there are representatives of several nations among the attackers. According to reports, there are white men and a white woman among the terrorists.

This is the largest terrorist attack in Kenya since 1998, when militants attacked the U.S. Embassy in Nairobi. As a result of that attack, 213 people were killed, about 4,000 were injured.

At the moment, the Kenyan troops take most of the building of Westgate shopping center. The exact number of terrorists and hostages inside the building remains unknown.
