On the outskirts of St. Petersburg, police officers arrested a drunken man with a chainsaw. The man was chasing a woman through the village of Taitsy, the Gatchina district.

The incident occurred August 28 overnight. When the officers arrived and asked the man to calm down, he attacked the policemen, and they were forced to open fire.

As a result, the man was shot in the abdomen and arm. The attacker was taken to hospital. It was then established that the detained individual was an unemployed 45-year-old citizen of Kazakhstan.
