Dutchman, who stabbed Russian boy, suffers from autism

The 20-year-old Dutchman Sirin Shriver, who attacked 11-year-old Russian Nikita Onishchenko on Crete suffers from autism, the mother of the man, who worked as a hotel entertainer, said. The woman, Alexandra Schriver, said that she would arrive on Crete on Monday to testify on the case and said that she could not arrive earlier due to the strike of air traffic controllers. 

In an interview with the Dutch newspaper Hart van Nederland, she said that she was afraid to leave her son alone. However, the woman was promised that her son would be under constant surveillance. It was also said that the young man had problems with mental alertness.

Sirin Shriver started working at Laguna Hotel only a few days before the attack occurred. He has been charged with attempted murder, illegal possession and use of weapons, as well as theft. Greek media emphasize that when interrogated, the Dutchman showed absolute disregard for his acts. He thought that he had killed the boy and was going to bury his body.

Nikita was stabbed nearly two dozen times while on holiday on the island of Crete, allegedly by a Dutchman working as an entertainer at the child's hotel, Greek officials said. Nikita, from Moscow, vanished from  five-star hotel in the Hersonissos region in northern Crete.
