Iran earthquake kills over 40

According to preliminary reports, as many as 40 people have been killed in Iran as a result of a powerful earthquake on April 16^th, Al Arabiya said.

The 7.8 magnitude tremors were recorded at 14:44 Moscow time. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the earthquake occurred in south-eastern Iran, near the border with Pakistan.

Due to vibrations in the earth's crust, tremors were felt throughout the Gulf, as well as in the Indian capital of New Delhi.
