Bedouins take foreign tourists hostage in Egypt

In Egypt, armed Bedouins took two foreign tourists hostage, news agencies said with reference to local police.

According to preliminary reports, the attackers blocked the way for the vehicle, in which a Belgian female and an Israeli male were traveling. Threatening the tourists with guns, they forced the man and the woman into their truck and fled in an unknown direction.

This is not the first hostage-taking incident in the Sinai Peninsula. It is assumed that in exchange for the release of hostages, the kidnappers may demand freedom to their imprisoned relatives.
