Lightning strikes aircraft with football players onboard

A lightning struck the aircraft, which was carrying football players of Russia's  "Sokol" football club from Saratov, the press service of the team said. No one was injured in the accident.

According to representatives of the Saratov FC, the lightning struck the airliner during landing. The tragedy did not occur thanks to the skills of the pilots. They were able to land the plane safely.

The team was flying a charter flight from Moscow to Turkey, for a second training session from on March 4-17. There were 24 players on board the plane.
