Man fires hunting rifle at school and kindergarten for fun

A resident of the village of Solnechny (Sunny), the Khabarovsk region of Russia, may face the prison term of up to seven years for firing a hunting rifle at a local school and a kindergarten.

The man, having drunk a decent amount of alcohol, grabbed a gun and started shooting it for fun at the kindergarten and school. He also fired the gun at a vehicle and a lamppost. As a result of the shooting, the driver of the car was injured in the face by fragments of broken glass. Bullets also damaged the door of the kindergarten and smashed a school window.

The shooter was arrested; a criminal case was filed against him. If found guilty, the man will spend the next seven years of his life in jail.

Another shooting incident took place last November in Mozhaisk, a suburb of Moscow. A 40-year-old man, being in a state of narcotic intoxication, called the police and an ambulance and then opened fire at police officers and paramedics after they had arrived. Luckily, no one was hurt.
