Professional race car driver kills two women at pedestrian crossing

Professional race car driver and master of sports, Grigory Surlye, killed two women on a pedestrian crossing while driving his Subaru vehicle in the south-west of Moscow. The man was arrested, Itar-Tass reports.

The accident occurred on Thursday morning, at about 6:00 a.m. The police found one of the victims on the site of the accident. The other victim was lying on the road some 500 meters far from the place, where the car ran the women over.

According to Moskovsky Komsomolets newspaper, 55-year-old cashier of the Moscow metro, Yevgenia Petrunina, died first. The second victim has not been identified yet.

The police arrested three people who were staying in the Subaru vehicle at the time of the accident. Grigory Surlye, a 28-year-old karting champion, was the driver. According to MK, ​​the driver, being in a state of shock, stepped out of the car and walked to his home. Soon afterwards, the man himself returned to the crime scene and admitted that he was behind the wheel.

It was also reported that there was 0.9 ppm of alcohol in the driver's blood. It was also said that the suspect had been denied the right to drive before November 2013.
