Teen boy killed by goalposts in Russia

Goalposts killed a 12-year-old boy on Uralmash Stadium in the city of Ekaterinburg, Russia. The boy was killed when the goalposts fell down on him.

The child was playing football with his friends. Anton Davletgareev, 12, was a goalkeeper. The boy did not manage to jump aside when the goalpost began to fall. The steel construction hit him on the head. Unfortunately, the boy died on the way to the hospital.

Forensic experts said that the boy died from a serious cranial injury. The child's mouth and nose were bleeding during the examination, news agencies said.

Investigators are trying to determine the reasons that led to the tragedy. "We need to find out who was in charge of security measures at the sports ground," an official representing local law-enforcement agencies said. The Uralmash Stadium is the property of regional authorities, whereas the goalposts belong to the Ministry for Physical Culture and Sports.
