Plane with 22 on board disappears in Nepal mountains

42747.jpegA small passenger plane with 22 people on board is missing in Nepal while flying in the mountainous region, officials have said.

Dinesh Shrestha, manager at Katmandu's Tribhuwan International Airport, said the plane has been out of contact for two hours since taking off from a small airstrip in eastern Nepal, The Press Association reports.

There were 19 passengers--nine male and ten female--along with a foreign national on board the plane. Sachindra Shrestha was the co-pilot in the flight.

Two helicopters of Air Dynasty have been deployed for the rescue operation, Republica informs.
