Jaycee Dugard’s Photo Appears in People Magazine

After her 18-year abduction, Jaycee Dugard showed up. Dugard was featured on the cover of People magazine, smiling for the photo.

"I’m so happy to be back with my family," said Dugard to People. She now resides with her mother, Terry Probyn and two daughters. Dugard spends most of her time doing activities around the house and she is thinking of launching a book, said People, CDInsight reports.

Dugard is living in seclusion with her 50-year-old mother, Terry Probyn, and her two daughters, Angel and Starlit, fathered by her accused kidnapper, said the Time Warner Inc. magazine. She is beginning the “slow process of recovery,” said the publication, which features a smiling Dugard on the cover of its issue on sale Oct. 16.

Dugard is happy to be back with her family and is riding horses, cooking meals and considering working on a book, People said on its Web site. The family lives a “surprisingly normal” life considering the circumstances, Probyn’s stepmother told the magazine.

"They’re all getting along," David Caplan, a senior editor at People, told CNN in an interview today. "Right now they're in seclusion in northern California. Right now is really a period for the family to get to know each other again, to spend time with each other," Bloomberg reports.

It was also reported, Jaycee Dugard, who was kidnapped when she was 11 and found alive only in August.

Dugard was abducted outside her home in South Lake Tahoe, California in 1991. She was never heard of again until police found her inside a tent at the back of Garrido's home in Antioch, AHN reports.
