An Air National Guard F-15 crashed Friday in rural south-central Missouri after the pilot ejected.
The pilot was flown to a St. Louis hospital with injuries that did not appear life-threatening, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.
The fighter jet crashed in a wooded area near Boss. The patrol said no buildings were hit and no one on the ground was injured.
There was no immediate word on the cause of the crash.
The strike was defensive in nature and came in response to three attacks on the US military in February
