Research: Normal weight type 2 diabetics die more often than overweight

According to the new research, 2 type diabetics with extra weight have more advantages against normal weight or even underweight patients.

10, 500 people who suffer diabetes have been observed for more than ten years. It was found out that they had more chances to survive strikes and heart attacks over those with normal weight, noted Medical Daily.

According to the American Diabetes Association, this advantage that overweight people have, was coined the "obesity paradox" in studies ten years ago which found "better outcomes in overweight and obese patients with coronary heart disease undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention compared with their normal-weight counterparts."

It can be assumed that normal-weight people consume more alcohol and smoke more cigarettes in comparison with the overweight. Also, there may be differences in the type 2 diabetes that obese and non-obese people have.

Thus, practice of healthy lifestyle is acknowledged the only solution.
