Jonathan Inskeep: my mother told me that without Russia we would have lost WWII

Greetings. I just came across your Internet-based publication and I want to thank you for it. I am a 51 year old American with two daughters and have tried my best to teach them to be responsible members of the world community.

Both my parents were in the army during World War II and they taught me from a very young age about the horrors of Nazi Germany. They also told me very bluntly of the heroic role that Russia played in defeating Hitler. In fact my mother has repeatedly told me that without Russia we would have lost that war. I truly believe that the Russian people are fighting to make the world a better place at a time when the current American administration is not. Please be aware that we did NOT elect George Bush and that we are doing our best to reign in his extremist government. I look forward to being a regular reader of your publication.
