Delegation from Latin America pays work visit to Nizhny Novgorod

A Latin American delegation paid a visit to the Nizhny Novgorod region to establish partnerships and build economic ties.

The Nizhny Novgorod region is a promising investment destination. The industrially developed region actively establishes contacts with foreign companies.

In 2009, on the initiative from Governor Valery Shantsev, a program of support and industrial upgrading of the region was developed. According to Rosstat, the Russian Federal Statistics Agency, in 2012 , the region took the lead in Russia from the point of view of innovative production, while taking the first place in the Volga Federal District  and the fifth place in Russia on the whole.

According to the tasks, set by governor Shantsev, by 2018, labor productivity in the region is expected to grow twice. In accordance with "May Decrees" signed by President Putin, labor productivity indicator in Russia in general is expected to grow 1.5 times.

"The Nizhny Novgorod region has been demonstrating success in the industrial development for a very long time. I am therefore convinced that the Nizhny Novgorod region and Mexico have a great potential for cooperation. I have no doubt that in the future, our dialogue will be developing more efficiently," Ambassador of Mexico to Russia, Ruben Beltran said, who visited the Nizhny Novgorod region. "First off, we would like to develop inter-regional relations in such areas as engineering, metallurgy, information technology and the production of automotive components. In this context, a visit to Nizhny Novgorod was an important starting point for us," he added.

According to Mr. Beltran, Nizhny Novgorod is very a promising and progressive city. It is also important that the government supports the city in many directions, the ambassador said.

"The region has created a package of measures to support investors and entrepreneurs. Accordingly, the business environment in the Nizhny Novgorod region can be assessed as a very positive one. In this connection, I expect to establish further contacts with Governor Valery Shantsev, through which our bilateral relations will develop even more actively," summed up the ambassador.
