Cooperation between Kaluga region and French province of Limousin is a model to follow

The head of the Kaluga region, Anatoly Artamonov, held a work meeting with the governor of the French province of Limousin, Jean-Paul Denanot. The main topic of the meeting was the expansion of partnerships between the regions.

"Ten years ago, we signed a cooperation agreement, and I believe that it was fruitful. During this time, we would constantly exchange delegations, new contacts emerged. In this regard, our cooperation can be called a model to follow," said Mr. Jean -Paul Denanot. "We would like to continue it as there are many areas for cooperation. For example, the exchange of students. We are not a car-making region, but we have the manufacturers of car parts. We could find an area for cooperation in this field as well. Also, we would like to cooperate in agriculture, particularly in agricultural tourism, where we would like to extend our experience and share it with others. Culture is another area. For our people it is important to carry out a cultural exchange program."

An important part of the visit of French colleagues was the signing of the agreement on joint work between the center of the French association of producers of seed potatoes GROSEP and the Kaluga Agricultural Research Institute. The companies plan to share their experience in testing and improving new sorts of potatoes.

The French delegation also visited the Grabtsevo industrial park, the Kaluga academic training center for the automotive industry, the science city of Obninsk and the cultural and educational center Ethnomir.

"It is very important that our relationships constantly develop," Governor of the Kaluga region Anatoly Artamonov said.
