Abu Dhabi plans to invest five billion dollars in Russia's infrastructure together with the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF). The money will be used for the construction of toll roads, highways to airports, as well as other projects, RDIF CEO Kirill Dmitriev said.

Dmitriev said that on Thursday, September 12, the memorandum of understanding was to be signed between the Department of Finance Abu Dhabi and the RDIF.

In accordance with the memorandum, the first deal is to be concluded already next year.

The Russian Direct Investment Fund was created in June 2011 by the initiative of the Russian president and prime minister. The task of the foundation is to raise funds on the basis of principles of co-investment.
