Microsoft intends to buy a unit of the Finnish maker of mobile phones, Nokia. The deal is evaluated at seven billion dollars.
Experts point out that the move will be a logical continuation of the recent cooperation between the two companies that gave the world many amazing and unique products. The transaction is to be completed during the first quarter of 2014. Five billion dollars are to be paid for business per se, whereas the remain part - for patents.
As expected, after the sale of the mobile unit, Nokia will remain as a brand, but it will be a different company . The Finns intend to focus on the development of maps and navigation systems.
Nokia's shares skyrocketed by 47 percent in Helsinki in the morning of September 3rd, after the news was made public, having marked a record growth of quotations of the company.
