Considering that Steve Ballmer has been chief executive of Microsoft for more than a decade, it might sound strange to say this. But the sweeping reorganization announced Wednesday made it clear that Microsoft is now his company, according to Los Angeles Times.

He is restructuring divisions around hardware and Internet services as customers increasingly use mobile devices for tasks once completed on desktop machines, curbing demand for the company's flagship Windows operating system.

He's also separating corporate tasks like marketing and finance from engineering to help executives focus on building products, informs North Jersey. Microsoft, founded by Bill Gates and Paul Allen in 1975, has an annual turnover of $74 billion, reports Evening Standard.
