Synthetic fiber factory to appear in Russia's Ivanovo region

On October 12, the memorandum of cooperation between EPC Engineering Consulting GmbH and JSC Cluster Textile Corporation Ivregionsintez was signed in Moscow.

The parties intend to establish the modern production of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and its processing (synthetic fiber factory) in the Ivanovo region. The cooperation will be conducted on the base of the project "Production of polyester textile fibers from polyether and processing in Ivanovo."

The document was signed by Director General of JSC Cluster Textile Corporation  Ivreginsintez, Vasily Gushchin, and managing director of EPC Engineering Consulting GmbH, Jens Henkel.

Prime Minister of Thuringia Christine Lieberknecht, Economy Minister Matthias Machnig and the governor of the Ivanovo Region Mikhail Men attended the signing ceremony.

The implementation of this modern high-tech production for PET processing will make a significant contribution to the strategy of the development of light industry of Russia until 2020. In addition, it will show an active influence on the economic and social development of the Ivanovo region and the whole country.

EPC will provide the following services: engineering, installation of PET staple fiber, supporting installations, personnel training, installation and start-up. EPC is ready, within the scope of the analysis of the project, to assist in the financing of the project with the involvement of German banks.

The responsibilities of the Russian side include: the selection of plots of land, contacts and negotiations with the companies that provide construction, installation, supply of pipelines and other support materials for the project, the provision of production personnel, as well as the launch and operation of the new company.

The first steps in the new project stipulate a contract for basic engineering services and a contract for the supply of equipment, installation, etc.
