IT-Forum in Nizhny Novgorod: Perfect platform for communications

A regular meeting of the committee for the preparation and hosting of the V International Forum of Information Technologies "ITFORUM 2020 / Informatization of Our Lives" has taken place in Nizhny Novgorod. The meeting was conducted under the chairmanship of Deputy Governor Sergei Potapov.

The forum will be held on April 18-20, 2012 at the Nizhny Novgorod Fair. According to organizers, the main purpose of the meeting is to expose the importance of information and telecommunication technologies in modern life; to demonstrate the latest developments and achievements; to spread latest experiences in various areas of information technologies. About 2,000 participants from Russia and neighboring countries are to take part in the forum.

During the meeting of the committee, the participants summed up the intermediate results of the work. Deputy Governor Sergei Potapov said that the forum is being organized in accordance with the approved schedule.

The Minister of Information Technologies, Communications and Media of Nizhny Novgorod Region, Sergei Kuchin, said that the format of the forum will be different from the usual exhibitions this year. The forum is not going to showcase brands. First priority attention will be paid to interesting solutions in various fields of modern life.

"The main idea of the main exhibition at the forum is a symbolic informational city. The city will present the following "blocks": e-government, e-medicine, e-business, e-culture, e-education, e-life. Visitors will be able to get to know the author of the solutions, that they evince interest in," he explained.

For example, when entering the "e-education" block, the visitors will find themselves in the location designed as a kindergarten. There will be children's drawings on the walls, toys will be placed everywhere, little cabinets and benches will also be present at the location. In this section, companies will present their solutions in the field of early childhood education. Solutions will be represented similarly in the areas of general, special and higher education. At the  "e-government" sector, visitors get into the multifunctional center of public and municipal services.

However, Sergei Kuchin added that the congress and the exposition parts of the forum would be combined. Round tables and seminars will take place directly on the territory of the exhibition.

"In addition, the forum will have a historical bloc, where Nizhny Novgorod residents will be able to take a look at the solutions that were used in the past. We will try to show the visitors of the forum what we have done today and what we can do tomorrow, and how information technologies embrace our lives", said Sergei Kuchin.

The manager on operational issues of Intel Corporation, Daria Kiryanova,  suggested that the IT-Forum was an excellent platform for communications. "The forum quickly gained international status. For us, for a world class company, it is very important. We get feedback and actively establish business contacts with foreign partners. There's also a good academic program being implemented at the forum. The program has increased the efficiency of our cooperation with leading universities in Nizhny Novgorod, particularly the Nizhny Novgorod State University named after Lobachevsky. I think the potential of the Forum will only grow over the years, said Darya Kiryanova.
