Porsche reflects optimistic expectations reporting 14.2 profit increase

By Margarita Snegireva. Porsche Automobil Holding SE reported that profit for the first-half covering August to January will increase by 14.2 pct (3,5 billion euros) with unit sales up 18.7 pct at around 46,600.

A statement said the first-half results are 'expected to reflect our optimistic expectations', with operating profit in the car business 'developing according to plan'.

It was founded in 1931 by Ferdinand Porsche, an Austro-Hungarian engineer, born in Maffersdorf (Vratislavice), Bohemia (now part of the Czech Republic) who also created the first Volkswagen. The company is headquartered in Zuffenhausen, a city district of Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg. They currently produce sports cars, super cars and sport utility vehicles.
