Southwest Airlines Co. (NYSE: LUV), an American low-fare airline, is going to give a trial to satellite-to-airplane broadband Internet service this summer.
The service will provide access to the Internet for passengers with their own Wi-Fi-enabled laptops. The company still gives no answer as to the limits of sites or applications provided but promises consistent connectivity.
This innovation causes mixed feelings. On the one hand it’s very convenient for business people to be permanently powered-up and in touch. But still there are some things that need solution, for example the limit of places one can get away from work and also the accessibility to all the passengers.
