BMW's sales up 13 percent from year ago

BMW AG saw its sales up 13.2 percent compared with last year, the company said Thursday.

The Munich-based company, whose brands include BMW, Mini and Rolls-Royce, sold 123,304 cars, compared with 108,897 in October 2006.

From January-October, the company said it sold 1.2 million cars, up 7.8 percent from the 1.1 million it delivered in the first 10 months of 2006.

The biggest sales increases in the first 10 months of 2007 were recorded by the new versions of the BMW 3 Series Coupe and Cabrio and the BMW X5.

Shares of BMW were up 0.1 percent to EUR41.60 (US$61.24) in Frankfurt.
