Russian Soyuz spacecraft lands safely in Kazakhstan

42504.jpegA Russian Soyuz spacecraft carrying two Americans and a Russian from the International Space Station has landed in Kazakhstan.

Cosmonaut Fyodor Yurchikhin and astronauts Shannon Walker and Douglas Wheelock touched down Friday morning in the steppes of the Central Asian nation, according to BusinessWeek.

Russian Mission Control said the spacecraft touched down on time. Earlier the crew from Expedition 25 said their goodbyes to the remaining members on board the station.

During their five and a half months in space, they conducted scientific research and carried out maintenance work. The next Soyuz mission to the ISS is set for next month, euronews reports.
