Vladimir Putin discussed investments in the Russian economy with head of the Exxon-Mobil Corporation Lee Raymond. The president of Russia met with Raymond during a number of working meetings at the Russian Embassy in Washington. The chairman of the Board of Directors of the largest oil company told the head of the Russian state about the carrying out of the Sakhalin-1 project with the participation of American capital and the plans of the company's further work in Russia. As Raymond told journalists, his corporation intends to invest 4 billion, and in the long term - 13 billion dollars in oil extraction on Sakhalin shelf. The head of Exxon-Mobil stressed that it was not the time-serving considerations but confidence in long-term political, economic and legal stability that was the main thing in the undertakings of this kind.
