Moscow's To Have Negative Attitude To Further NATO Expansion Irrespective Of Russia-NATO Relations

Russia's attitude to NATO's possible expansion will depend on the level of Russia-NATO relationship by the moment of taking the decision on the expansion, informed sources in Moscow told RIA Novosti. However, Moscow's attitude "will not be positive", the sources stressed. "NATO's expansion is a mistake, a set-back of the old way of thinking. There is no military need of the Baltic States joining NATO, it is a political step only," the sources said.
