The administration of George W. Bush will introduce sanctions on Friday against three Chechen terrorist organisations, which participated in hostage taking in the Dubrovka theatre centre in Moscow last October. This information was provided by the official US State Department spokesman, Richard Boucher.
Addressing journalists in Washington on Thursday, he said that US Secretary of State Colin Powell made a decision in mid-February to include three organisations of Chechen militants in the list of international terrorist organisations, compiled by the US administration.
This decision is based on the facts and the study of the entire information received, including that from the Russian government, Boucher pointed out. The information service of the US State Department reported that the inclusion of any structure in the list of terrorist organisations working abroad means the application to all of them of the US administration sanctions. They include the ban on any relations, financial or trade operations, visa issuing, and so on. All the financial and property assets of such a structure should be immediately arrested.
In addition, the US government calls on the governments of other countries to also discontinue all contacts with terrorist organisations, ensure their international isolation and close all the channels of their funding.
